This summer 2014, InterExchange launched its inaugural InterExplorer cultural activities contest, where we encouraged our J-1cultural exchange participants to show us all the things they do to learn about and experience American culture during their programs. The contest period was June 1 – August 31, 2014. We announced our winner, Sigolene Jomain, on September 15, 2014, and presented her with an award, certificate and cultural prizes. Robin Lerner, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Private Sector Exchange at the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, composed this video to congratulate InterExchange’s inaugural winners of InterExplorer and acknowledge their exceptional engagement in cultural exchange.
