Last week in Washington, DC, our new program, Sustainable Action Costa Rica, was named GoAbroad’s best New Program for Study Abroad Innovation!

Sustainable Action Costa Rica is an exploration of 21st century development concerns in a local context. Participants learn through visits with local NGOs and group activities, with outdoor adventures along the way.

My colleague Tanya Burovtseva and I were thrilled to be on hand at the 2019 NAFSA Conference to proudly accept the award.

We couldn’t be more proud of this honor, or of James Bridge, our very own Director of Outbound Programs. James not only conceptualized the program, but also was the lead guide for the inaugural tour this past January. (Check out highlights from that first program.)

The positive feedback from our first group of participants demonstrated that the program was a huge success. And this GoAbroad award takes their acclaim to an even higher level that we hope will inspire more participants to sign up and join us in Costa Rica next winter.

We’re looking forward to next winter’s trip!

Speaking of which: the application period is open for our next Sustainable Action Costa Rica program, January 4-11, 2020! Spaces are limited, so be sure to reserve your spot now!

A heartfelt thanks to everyone at InterExchange who helped get this program off the ground!
