How it works

Whether you are looking for a position at a U.S. summer camp, or already have a contract, we’re here to help.

Process

1. Apply

Create an application for free and provide InterExchange with some basic information and—most importantly—why you’d make a great counselor. Once you submit your application, we’ll contact you for an interview.

Once accepted, camp directors invite you for a second interview. Plus, you can browse and apply to your favorite camps and choose the job offer that suits you best from our wide network of camps across America. You’ll have access to our network of the BEST summer camp jobs across America. Once you receive an offer you’re excited about, you’re one step closer to the summer of a lifetime!
After you accept a job offer, we’ll keep the process simple. We help you with J-1 Visa sponsorship, travel arrangements, orientation, insurance, and other logistics. Before you know it, you’ll be at camp doing that summer job you’ve been dreaming about.

Requirements

We’re looking for applicants who love working with kids, enjoy spending time outdoors, are enthusiastic about sharing their skills and culture, and have a positive can-do attitude. Are you up for the adventure?

Age: At least 18 years old

Eligibility categories:
Either a student, teacher, youth worker, or capable of leading a specialized skill at camp

Program Costs

There is no fee to start an application. After you submit your application and it is accepted, you can begin your search for the perfect camp! Fees must be paid before we can start the visa process.

The total cost above includes the program fee, a $35 SEVIS fee, and a $165 insurance fee. There are no additional fees paid to InterExchange. The Camp USA program includes accident and sickness insurance for the duration of your placement.

If you are applying through an InterExchange-approved cooperator, please note that the total cost may be different based on the services provided by the cooperator. For more information, please contact the cooperator directly for a description of their fees and services.
